Been so slack with news - sorry! We have had a fun start to the year with the dogs, despite missing several shows for one reason or another. In January we did the Manchester Champ show under judge Yvonne Billows - a good day for the team with Ritchie Best Puppy Dog and Mac winning his first Post Grad class. The day was tinged with sadness as we parted with Frank on that day, BUT, boy has that dog landed on his feet. He is now with June up in Scotland and living the life of Riley! He will still be shown and I am looking forward to handling him at Crufts.
Later in the month we travelled to Godmanchester to the Wickford and Basildon Show, judge was Vicky Warrener. Mac was BOB and G2 under Richard Bott, Ritchie won puppy but was beaten by litter sister Georgia for BP.
February
February 18th saw the SESSS Champ show, always a favourite show of mine. This year the judge was Stephanie Rickard from Oz. Really didn;t know what sort of day we would have but we were thrilled. Georgia & Ritchie both won classes and Ritchie was Best Puppy Dog again and Res Best Puppy in Show, a nice way to finish his puppy career. Kizzy enjoyed her day out and finished Best Veteran in Show. Mac won his Post Grad class and we were thrilled when he was awarded the RCC in amongst some lovely opposition.
We are now looking forward to Crufts although a slight dampner has been thrown on it as the JW finals are now on the Thursday, the day before the breed. And it means Steve can't come with me. :(
March
Another Crufts has come and gone - but what an enjoyable couple of days. Thrilled to see Mac's da Seamus not only go BOB but achieve a fantastic Group 3 - way to go Seamus, so pleased for you Jacky, Dave and of course Helene. Our team did us proud, all 6 that we showed were in the first three placings - Mac and Georgia being the stars: Mac won a huge PGD class and his daughter Georgia ended Best Puppy Bitch.
The SWESSC the following week was a great show as usual, such fun and a lovely atmosphere (and delicious cream teas). Delighted to report that Mac won BEST IN SHOW. The following weekend 25th March, was the Tunbridge Wells show, another amazing day for our kids, Georgia winning a lovely class and RBOB behind Mac who then went on to win the Group and finish BEST IN SHOW again!
April
Didn't think April could possibly match March but................ April Fools Day, 1st of the month and the long trek to the Lancs and Chesh show under Gundog Specialist Moray Armstrong. WOW - Mac won the PGD class again and his first CC - huge slab of icing on the cake when he went BEST IN SHOW. We were over the moon as you can imagine - thanks so much to everyone for their generous congratulations on the day, the e-cards and messages that arrived after. Georgia and Ziva also won classes at this show.
The following week was the ESSC, and guess what??!! Mac did it again! His 2nd CC and this time RBIS. Pinch me someone I must be dreaming!! At this show Olivia, Ritchie, Georgia and Kizzy also won classes!
13th of April came and it was a dark day for us - our sweet Ginny, Graftonbury Delta Inuit had been off colour for a few days so i took her to the vet for some tests, it was very bad news and we decided we had to let her go to save her suffering. Dear Ginny, she gave us some lovely babies and we so hope we can continue her line through Nellie sometime this year. We miss you Ginny.
The following day it was an effort to get to the United Spaniel show, but life goes on and I decided to go. Glad i did as Mac achieved another BOB and you won't believe it - another BEST IN SHOW.
22nd April and the ESSWC of Wales brought the winning streak to a slow down, although not a full stop! Mac won his PGD class and Ritchie won two classes too. They were both shortlisted down to the last 4 in the CC challenge but no more. The girls did well with Georgia and Kizzy also winning classes, Kizzy finishing BVIS.
